In my house, it always seems to be a battle in the morning to try and get my kids to apply their sunblock before heading out to camp or school. Finally, we have found some clean and easy products that they will not complain about… hopefully.
Tip: Always make sure your kids sunblock has Zinc Oxide as an active ingredient which is ideal for blocking UVA and UVB rays. Also, opting for a clean mineral sunscreen is best for your kids as well as the environment.
I love these sports sticks, particularly for applying sunblock upon my kids faces, they can even do it themselves or sometimes I will apply it and then get the kids to help rub it in which they seem to like. They are especially great on the neck area for boys (an important area to cover) as this seems to be a spot they hate getting sunblock applied. I also like that you can leave it in their school bag and they can apply these to themselves for touch-ups throughout the day. I like to keep a bunch of these around seeing as how handy they are. They are also really great for the beach because you don’t have to get all that sand in the product and can just use the stick while not getting your hands sticky with the lotion.
Babo Super Shield Sport Stick with Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50, this sunscreen is made with 100% zinc oxide, its 80 minute water and sweat resistant and the best part is, it goes on sheer and its super easy to blend out. I have been using this on my daughters super sensitive skin and it works great. $16, get it here.

Acure Organics Baby Sun Stick SPF 30, Made with zinc oxide and lots of other hydrating ingredients. This one is a little more whitening then the other sticks, but great for little ones and works well in those hard to get areas. I know that sprays are not ideal due to the fact that you can easily miss spots and you don’t want to inhale! Yet these ones have advantages. First off, they are made with zinc oxide which is much better than titanium dioxide which you don’t want to breath in. I apply these to my hands then rub onto the skin in order not to miss spots. For kids, I find that these get a lot less complaints in the morning rush to get out of the house, so that is always a good thing. I think its because it feels lighter on the skin which they like better than the cream sunscreens.
I like to apply these sprays on myself when I’m running out of the house. I’ll spray them on the back of my hands, arms and on the tops of my feet when I have sandals.
