Sun protection for the lips is extremely important, especially in the summer months, however it is often overlooked. In the past, mineral non-chemical Lip SPF products were very white and chalky, but I love how this has changed. These new lip products are non whitening, provide tint and have SPF. Not to mention they come in some super cute colors. The ILIA and Coola lips are a little more sheer where as the Suntegrity lipstick has more color to their lip products.
ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15, formulated with non-nano 10% zinc oxide coco and shea butter to hydrate and antioxidants such as organic avocado, sesame, cranberry and passionflower. These come in two sheer colors; Kokomo which is a sheer muted mauve which works great on a variety of skin tones and Bombora which has a beautiful sheer red hue. Both colors look much brighter in person and online but once applied its a much softer muted color. I really love these, they are nice and light on but you still feel protected. $26, get it here.
Suntegrity Lip CPR Sunscreen Lipstick with SPF 30, the CPR stands for Color, Protect and Revive. These lipsticks are formulated with 18% zinc oxide for broad spectrum spf 30 and are infused with lip repair lipids, konjac root to help fill in the wrinkles, and organic jojoba oil, shea butter and coco butter to help moisturize. They are gluten, dairy, and GMO free as well. I’m obsessed with Suntegrity’s Tinted Moisturizer with SPF, its the best and I totally trust their sun protective qualities. I like that these lipsticks have a little more color if you want more of that lip stick look but do note that most of the colors have a little shimmer to them. These stay in place really well and are long lasting. There are 8 shades, they have a sample bag you can order where you can try all the colors for $8, $28 each, get it here.
Coola Organic Sunscreen SPF Lip Balm 30 Mineral Liplux with SPF 30, These add a hint of color while still protecting your lips with SPF. They are formulated with organic cupuacu butter and monogo oil to help keep lips moist along with broad spectrum zinc oxide 1.4% and titanium dioxide 3.2% SPF 30, they are water resistant for up to 40 minutes and have a minty rose flavor. I really like these as they go on so smoothly. I have the Hibiscus which goes on like a sheer red and the Carmel which is a sheer nude pinkish color both super pretty. Its comes in three other colors, Bonfire (copper), Skinny Dip (sheer tint), and Summer Crush (dark pink), $18, get it here.
