Acure is my go to organic product line at the moment. I’m a big fan of the Acure Organics line of products for a few reasons; they are a family run business, have great company standards (products are free from animal testing), contains clean ingredients, has a great price point, and they can be found at most Target stores and Whole Foods, also online at Amazon. Currently I use their Facial Cleansing Gel, and I use the Day Cream and Eye Cream in my makeup kit which my clients always love. For this review I tried out their facial scrubs.
What they say: Stimulated new cell growth with 1% Chlorella Growth Factor, brightens, paraben free, vegan, gluten free, synthetic fragrance free, silicone free and phthalate free.
Our Review: This scrub has a fresh but not overpowering minty scent. Its gentle yet effective and has a nice fine consistency. My skin is really sensitive and acne prone and the scrub has worked really well. Have I noticed my skin getting brighter? Not yet, I will check back in on this later.
Ingredients: Organic Curoxidant Blend [(Organic Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Berry, Organic Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry), Organic Rosa Canina (Rosehips), Organic Punica Granatum (Pomegranate), Fair Trade Organic Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos)], Organic Calendula Officinalis (Calendula), Organic Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile), Organic Aloe Barbensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Vegetable Glycerin, French Green Clay, Organic Lemon Peel Granules, Saponified Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Cellulose Gum (Vegetable), Organic Olea Europaea (Olive Oil), Organic Ascophyllum Nodosum (Sea Kelp), Theobromo Cacao (Cocoa) Powder, Organic Chlorella Pyrenoidosa (Chlorella Growth Factor), Chlorophyll, Glucono Delta Lactone (Fermented Sugar), Carageenan, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Stem Cells, Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Potassium Sorbate (Food Grade Preservative), Lilium Candidum Leaf Cell Extract, Essential Oil Blend of Salvia Officinalis (Sage) and Mentha spicata (Spearmint).
What they say: Moroccan red clay helps draw out impurities as black jojoba beads delicately exfoliate. Vegan, gluten free, free of the nasty ingredients, 100% biodegradable.
Our Review: Both of these scrubs are really effective, this one is better for you if your skin is congested and your looking to clear it up. The red clay works very well for elasticity of the skin and for acne prone skin, it removes impurities, has the benefits of magnesium, potassium and calcium for your skin. But beware this products is really red in color so you might want to be mindful of your clothes when applying this. As an exfoliant this is pretty mild so it can work on all skin types.
Ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (From Coconut), Glycerin, Cellulose Gum, Carrageenan, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate (From Coconut), Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (From Coconut), Glyceryl Laurate, Kaolinite (Moroccan Red Clay), Chlorella Pyrenoidosa (Chlorella Growth Factor) Extract, Sodium PCA, Hydrogenated Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Hydrogenated Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Callus Culture Extract, Organic Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Organic Rosa Canina (Rosehips) Fruit Extract, Organic Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Organic Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Organic Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower extract, Organic Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower extract, Iron Oxides, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Esters, Organic Olea Europaea (Olive Oil), Sodium Levulinate (From Corn), Potassium Sorbate (Food Grade Preservative), Citric Acid.
Tip: In general I like to exfoliate 2-3 times a week I think any more is too abrasive to your skin. I know some people say everyday but I think that is way too much. Also, try to use the facial scrub in the shower when your pores are heated up to get an even deeper scrub.
