The Details: Living Nature is a New Zealand line inspired by the healing properties of New Zealand’s plants.
Some facts about Living Nature:
More then 80% of New Zealand’s native plants are indigenous and unlike anything else on earth. Living Nature incorporates many of these botanical beauties into their brand.
They use 100% natural ingredients, preservatives and fragrances, and their full range is certified by BDIH Germany.
The main plants used in their line are Harakeke Flax Gel, Totarol, Manuka Honey, Manuka Oil, Hallo Clay and Kelp.
Why We Love It:
I came across Living Nature when I was looking for eco friendly pressed eye shadows for my makeup kit. The line is so beautiful, I was really impressed by their ingredients, eco friendly practices and standards. So far I have tried their eyeshadows, lip liner, lipstick and foundation.
Eye Shadows: First off, I love pressed eye shadows, they are so much less messier then loose shadows and so often natural brands tend to be loose eyeshadows. So of course I was intrigued that these shadows were pressed and also non-toxic. They have a great amount of pigment, go on smoothly, blending out really beautifully and have great staying power, and oh, bonus they fit perfectly into a Z pallet.
Lip Liner: Great pigment, they are soft and blend out well as they are made with vegetable wax to insure a smooth application. They come in three neutral shades. I tend to always use a neutral lip liner with most lip colors. unless of case you are doing a really dark defined lip. The morning sun color is a great neutral that should work on most people.
Lipstick: The range of colors are relatively neutral although beautiful, I suggest if your looking for more pops of color you might want to try out the ILIA lipsticks. However, if you do love a light natural lip then these are perfect for you. Full of nourishing waxes so they go on smooth and leave lips feeling moisturized.
Soft Lights Illuminating Foundation: This is a light weight mineral foundation and it has a hint of a refreshing scent which I think is from the natural oils. It contains natural oils, vitamins, Manuka Oil and minerals. They do have quite a few colors to chose from for lighter skin tones, they have yellow, orange and pink based shades but of course like most natural color lines they don’t have colors for darker skin tones. I found this to be nice light coverage foundation.
Packaging: is all recyclable, free of BPA, Phthalates, dioxin and elemental chlorine.
