I’m on the theme of magic.
I’m especially interested in making my mornings magical. Today, I chose to sleep in rather than wake up early for meditation. I have a flexible schedule right now so I’ve been able to get into a practice of waking up, stopping, and sensing what my body really wants to do.
I usually reach for hot tea in the morning (rarely coffee)…until one day, I realized I really just wanted something hot to sip on. My mind retrieved a recipe I had heard about.
In my version of this concoction I gently heat:
*Almond milk (about 1 cup),
*Tumeric (about 1 tsp)
*Honey or Molasses to taste
*A dash of cinnamon and black pepper, and fresh ginger if I have it
You may have heard of “SuperFoods”. In fact, Tumeric is a “SuperSpice”. For thousands of years, Tumeric has been used in Ayurevedic medicine to treat and prevent inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, acne, gastrointestinal disease and various cancers. The Western world has been proving its effects scientifically and has found that Tumeric also has anti-oxidant properties in addition to many other benefits. You can read more here.
