I love tinted moisturizers, not only are they the perfect multi-use product for the daytime, they are extremely important in helping to keep your skin protected and healthy. My favorite are the ones that offer light coverage, have an SPF and beneficial ingredients for the skin. In my last #GREENBEAUTYSCHOOL post about foundations, we went over some foundation tips and reasons why to make the switch to greener face products, you can check out the post here. Basically, since you are covering such a large area of your face every day with these products, it’s definitely one product that you’d want to consider switching out for a cleaner version.
When using a mineral sunscreen you want to make sure it has Zinc-Oxide or Titanium.
Avoid chemical sunscreens, you only want mineral and also look for non-nano.
Water resistant sunscreens can only be water resistant for up to 40-80 minutes.
Broad Spectrum means that it blocks UVA and UVB rays, this is ideal.
All the sunscreens mentioned in our posts are clean, green and personally tested by PinkKale!
Suntegrity 5 in 1 Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen with SPF 30, This has to be one of my all-time favorite green beauty products. It has mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 30 made with zinc-oxide that is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It has been shown to help skin conditions like rosacea, acne and melanoma. I like that this doesn’t go on to thick like some mineral sunscreens often can, and it blends out really well. I literally wore it every day last summer and it preformed beautifully, I never got a sunburn. It offers light coverage which is perfect for the daytime, its infused with lots of beneficial ingredients such as aloe, pomegranate and cucumber making it perfect for sensitive skin. The packaging is great and is TSA approved, this non-nano sunscreen is also vegan and has a great EWG rating. They only come in 5 colors, however, they do offer some nice darker options for all skin tones and you can order samples if you need to try them out.

Beauty Counter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer, I also really like this tinted moisturizer. It’s made with non-nano zinc oxide as a mineral sun blocker. This tinted moisturizer blends into your skin flawlessly and leaves your skin glowing. I love the finish, plus it has an SPF of 20. They have also added beneficial ingredients like black currant, peony flower root extract, and vitamin C which helps reduce the appearance of age spots and helps brighten and firm the skin, gotta love that! The Beauty Counter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer comes in 5 shades and they offer quite a large range of colors. They go on pretty light so they should work on most all skin tones.

Juice Beauty SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer BB, This is a great product if your just looking for sheer coverage. Its a 4-in-1 as they call it, it has zinc broad spectrum SPF 30, mineral coverage and some great antioxidant’s infused in apple, grape and aloe juices. I think this is a great pick for mature skin that doesn’t need to much coverage, or for teens. It only comes in sheer so it works on any skin tone.

Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream, This is BB cream which has more coverage then a tinted moisturizer and a Broad Spectrum SPF 25 with Titanium Dioxide. To be honest, this was a little to heavy for me personally, but if you are in need of a full coverage product that has SPF, then this product would be perfect for you. They have a large color range so this would work for all skin tones, and they are also wheat-free and vegan.
Ingredient rating: 4 on think dirty app.

Physican Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Work It! Marathonista Tinted Moisturizer SPF 40. This product is lightweight, yet it offers a good amount of coverage. They designed this product to stay on the skin which it does quite nicely. Their older tinted moisturizer used to break me out but this formula is free of a common pore clogger cyclopentasiloxane, so it works better then their past product. I like that this is affordable, and obtainable. You can get it at most drug stores or Target, but it only comes in two colors so it will not work for everyone, oh and its gluten free!
Ingredients rating: Couldn’t find a rating, but they do have good standards for their organic line.

Coola Face SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint, I really like Coola’s sun care products, and this particular one provides a light tint with a broad spectrum mineral SPF 30 made with rose hip oil which is rich in free radical fighting vitamin C, along with other healing ingredients that help retain moisture. This has both titanium and zinc oxide in it. This is great if your looking for really light coverage and works well with oily skin due to its matte finish. There is only one color and its really light so it should work on most skin tones, but its more of a sunscreen then a tint.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer, This is a great light coverage product that comes in a wide range of colors which is great for darker skin tones. It is a very clean product and a trustworthy company. The moisturizing formula has fruit and vegetable pigments, along with the calming ingredients of vitamins and antioxidants, unfortunately, this product doesn’t have SPF in it. I really like this tinted moisturizer but I do find it to be a little pink, if you have pink undertones and don’t want an SPF then this is a perfect tinted moisturizer.
Ingredient rating: These ingredients check out clean and the company has great standards.

Honest Beauty Everything Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20, I really like the Honest makeup line and I wanted to love this product, but honestly it’s a little to thick for me and does not blend out very well. It works okay if you mix it in with a little moisturizer then apply it to the skin, but on its own its a little to thick for a tinted moisturizer. I love their other makeup products but I don’t think they hit a home run with this one.
