I LOVE documentaries and I was so excited for Stink to come out! This is such a fantastic movie with a subject matter in desperate needs of being exposed, surprisingly this movie was very touching as well. The film deals with the chemical industry and how it affects each and every one of us in our day to day lives. This really is such an important topic as their are so many toxic elements in our world and we really have to police everything ourselves, you would think the government is set up to protect us but they continue to allow toxic products to be sold knowing that they have the strong potential to contain cancer causing agents. This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart and I love the filmmakers approach to making this movie. It highlights the incredible length at which companies will go to hide a plethera of nasty ingredients in products through what is known as “the fragrance loophole.” Basically, by claiming the fragrance in their products is considered a trade secret, companies are not obligated by law to reveal what their “fragrance” is made up of. Spoiler alert, a lot of those hidden ingredients are NOT GOOD, to say the least. As consumers, citizens and stewards of ourselves and our planet, we should have the right to know what ingredients are in our products and our children’s products. This is really a must watch movie I promise you will be moved!
